Rental Policy

By renting BEAR CANYON LODGE, you as the guest agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:

1. Deposit: A deposit equal to two (2) nights rental ($600.00/peak, $500.00/off-peak) is due immediately upon making the reservation. The deposit may be made with any major credit card or upon prompt mailing of a check to the address below. If the deposit is not arranged promptly after the reservation is made, the reservation will be cancelled.

2. Balance Due: The remaining balance, including sales tax of 6.9% and the cleaning fee of $80.00 is due thirty (30) days prior to your arrival.

3. Cancellation Policy: Reservations may be cancelled at least thirty (30) days prior to your arrival with a full and complete refund. Reservations cancelled with less than thirty (30) days notice shall result in forfeiture of one-half (1/2) of the total rent (cleaning fee is fully refundable). Note that in certain situations we may be willing to accommodate you by applying deposits or other monies paid to future stays. However, we are under no obligation to do so, and it is completely at our discretion. If a cancellation is made and the cabin rents out for all or a portion of that time period, the cancelling guests will receive credit for those nights rented.

4. Damage Deposit: A damage deposit is required at the time of your reservation. This can be done by providing a credit card number. Your credit card will not be charged unless and until damage is detected. The damage deposit may instead be made by check. In such a case, please provide a check in the amount of $250.00 labeled as deposit and dated for the date of your arrival. Assuming there is no damage, the check will be destroyed.

5. Smoking Policy: BEAR CANYON LODGE is a non-smoking home. Any smoking should be done outside and, please, properly discard cigarette butts.

6. Pet Policy: Pets are generally not allowed at BEAR CANYON LODGE. However, depending on the type of pet, the time of year (summer has a lot of wildlife that do not interact well with dogs) an exception can be made. An extra deposit may be required.

7. Check-In/Check-Out: Check-out is 10:00 a.m. and check-in is 4:00 p.m. With advance notice, we can usually be flexible on these times, unless there is a same-day turnaround on the cabin.

8. Snow and Ice: BEAR CANYON LODGE is in a high alpine environment and receives significant snowfall and icing conditions almost eight months out of the year. BEAR CANYON LODGE is open year round. For the most part, two-wheel drive should function adequately. However, if the driveway is particularly icy, two-wheel drive may have difficulty making it the last 75 feet. There is a lower parking area that is plowed allowing you to park and walk the remaining distance. Note that due to the persistent snowfall significant amounts of snow and ice will be present on the steps, on the deck, and the surrounding area. Please be careful.

9. Privacy: We respect your privacy and will not ever give or sell our customer list or any personal information to any other entity. For your protection, we suggest that all credit card information be given over the telephone rather than by e-mail. We may occasionally send e-mails (no more than once or twice per year) concerning BEAR CANYON LODGE to those who have expressed interest in the past. If you do not want to be included, simply reply with "DELETE" in the subject line.
